Wessex Cancer Alliance is proud to launch their cancer careers website. The website has been developed by the Alliance’s Workforce team, to promote and showcase the variety of roles that exist in NHS Cancer Services across our geography and to give people aged 11-16, the opportunity to think about what they need to study, in order to follow a career path into a cancer career.
Whether your interest is in diagnosing, treatment, or research to beat cancer; there’s something on our website for you. Explore the cancer roles available and find out more about the education level and qualifications you’ll need to enter that area of expertise.
For each role, there is also a video for you to watch. We have met with people already working in each role, so that you can hear from someone who is doing the job, why they love it and what route they took to get to where they are now.
Wessex Cancer Alliance Project manager, Jo Tibbles says “We are so pleased to be launching this new resource for people to explore all the many careers that exist under the cancer ‘umbrella’. I don’t think many people realise just how many roles there are to choose from. It has been a really exciting project to work on and now, to see the website being used, and providing people with new ideas and career prospects, makes me really proud to be involved.”
This is phase one of the new website; we have more cancer careers to share and so the site will be updated with more roles and details of vacancies across Wessex in the coming weeks and months. Keep checking back for more information.
We’d like to thank all the members of staff who have taken part in the cancer careers interviews to make this website the interactive tool that it is.
