This brand new, FREE provision from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight NHS Integrated Care System will be an enriching experience for your students and one that will also secure evidence against the Gatsby Benchmarks for your school. Our modules include Science, History, English and Maths GCSE curriculum content and Skills Builder attributes. Students will receive PDF certificates on completing their workshop and your school has the option to enter students for the Prince’s Trust Level 2 Award in Personal Development and Employability Skills* as each of our workshops will incorporate tasks within this qualification.
Each of our various workshop modules will cover many aspects of your wider and academic curriculum. Our aim, to introduce your students to the wealth of opportunities that a career in our NHS can offer. It isn’t a workplace solely made up of doctors and nurses, but a creative and diverse workforce, filled with employees of all academic levels and social backgrounds. Not only is the NHS one of the largest employers in the UK, but it is also invested in retaining its staff; offering training and qualifications to develop their team members but also to facilitate changes to personal career aspirations.
Alongside our main workshop, we will also be offering a number of ‘Practical Pods’ for you to add to the end of your visit. Currently Schools can select from the following:
- Basic defibrillator training/ CPR
- Horrid Hands
- Asthma/ Anaphylaxis training
For the 2021/22 academic year, our skilled educators will be available to visit your school site and lead your chosen module and ‘Practical Pod’. If you are interested in hosting one of our workshops, please register an interest form and one of our staff will get back to you to arrange a pre-visit to your site. Our educators will bring all resources required for the sessions including, 30 1:1 devices, activity sheets and any ‘Practical Pod’ equipment. In order to facilitate this successfully we would need to carry out internet and room/ space suitability check. These checks should take no more than 30mins and we will send through a checklist before we arrive to ensure the member of staff we are meeting has all the necessary information.
