We had an amazing time during National Apprenticeship Week (6-12 February) as we hopped on board the Apprenticeship Bus and visited 10 schools and 1400 students in Portsmouth and Southsea to talk about how apprenticeships are a great way of building a career in the NHS.
We were joined by a broad range of employers from across Hampshire who all offer apprenticeship opportunities, plus a number of apprentices sharing their experiences. Solent NHS Trust business administration apprentice Gemma Lanham is currently working with Solent’s Occupational Health Team. Gemma spent time chatting with year 10 students about her journey so far.
350+’s Emma Gotz, who leads in our Apprenticeships and T Level work, says: “The Apprenticeship Bus is a fantastic initiative to help young people learn more about these all-important first step into the NHS, ‘earning and learning’ along the way. Thank you to Shaping Portsmouth and Portsmouth City Council for organising a great week.”
Check out our Apprenticeships page for details of live and recent apprenticeships with the NHS.
